3M is seeking a Regional Sales Representative for the Electrical Markets Division, Specialty Sales Team, for the New York City, Long Island, and Upstate New York Areas. At 3M, you can apply your talents in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Regional Sales Representative will be responsible for penetrating strategic vertical markets to drive 3M Electrical Product sales, and growing sales in assigned territory for the Electrical Markets Division. This person will be working closely with key Distributor partners and end user customers. Must live within territory: Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Leads sales to grow sales for 3M EMD business in the assigned territory.
Develop expertise in electrical vertical markets
Implements sales plans, promotions, and directives as set by division management.
Determines sales plan for specified territory.
Supports end-users and distribution.
Works on a team with other Electrical reps and partner 3M divisions.
This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.
Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
* Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
* Minimum Three (3) years of Sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment
* Current, Valid Drivers license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
* MBA is preferred
* Sales experience in the Electrical MarketsKnowledge of Industrial Vertical Markets in a private, public, government or military environment
* Aptitude to understand and train customers on multiple product lines and applications
* Field/Channel sales experience
* Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to all levels
* Ability to qualify and prioritize sales opportunities within their assigned territory
* Experience working in a matrix environment or large complex organization
* Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
* Strong computer skills, Database management: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Salesforce.com
Location: Long Island, NY
Sales Territory: New York City, Long Island, and Upstate New York Areas
Travel: Up to 50% overnight travel within the territory is anticipated
Relocation: Relocation is not authorized
