Job Summary:
Responsible for the strategic leadership and direction, the Sr. Director, Enterprise Solution Acceleration Management is responsible for leading the portfolio and program management strategy and a team of Acceleration Managers in highly complex strategic programs. Responsible for overseeing all forecasting and planning activities associated with requests for new projects/initiatives, including demand intake, prioritization, and managing demand through the entire process lifecycle. This leader will need to manage the analytics and assessment of highly complex demands from a business, program and project management perspective. Acts as an internal consultant who is capable of easily understanding business needs and transforming them into business requirements. Has the ability to streamline the generation, development, and communication of new ideas to gain visibility, accountability, and revenue generation. Align with relevant stakeholders and experts, new product and solution
investigation, vetting, and cost-benefit analysis. Leads a team of Acceleration Managers in serving as the internal advocate for end-to-end implementation of strategic initiatives. Drive key outcomes as it relates to prioritization and selection of a valuable strategically aligned portfolio through driving strategic commitment within the organization. This team will focus on end-to-end customer solution and process implementations that require highly specific customizations for unique telecom service offerings. Lead Acceleration team in ensuring all business processes are in place for customer solution launch. Typically manages multiple teams of professionals.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Acceleration Managers as they serve as the source of truth on delivery commitments and ensure all parties are on the same page regarding objectives and definition of success.
- Lead strategy in demand management and effectively representing the ongoing relationship between the Customer and the business.
- Lead process for planning and performance review of current and future strategic objectives, including systems, resources, costs, capacity, process, impact and risk.
- Lead the business in program management initiatives
- Ensure teams are effectively investing in new products or services and are committed to accomplishing the implementation according to plan/timeline.
- Lead demand strategy and planning process and review with key business stakeholders, including Customer and market trends.
- Provide key stakeholder visibility and ensure stakeholders can track and effectively manage and forecast the demand for a highly complex portfolio of products and services.
- Responsible for escalations as it relates to pre-sales process in-take and issues related to validation of deployment requirements with potential new strategic clients.
- Reviews aggregate trends related to analysis of current and future Sales, Product and Service Delivery pipeline through internal and external interactions and reporting.
- Plays a leadership role in client specific Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) to align current client priorities and potential new opportunities.
- Monitors and ensures quality of program deliverables. Works with core team and key field resources to develop and monitor deployment schedule, strategies, and tools to support the implementation of programs in the field through trials and controlled customer deployments.
- Partner and influence key external vendors and other organizations as needed to support specific customer customizations and systems to ensure they are supportable for the program to be deliverable.
- Influences key stakeholders in presenting data gathered from the field in the form of formal briefings, project update meetings, and written, electronic, and graphic reports.
- Anticipates and strategically inquires about other work streams, projects, and initiatives, which may affect successful completion of initiatives/priorities in the Enterprise Solutions 2.0 Strategic Plan.
- Provides input to risk management and contingency planning and solutions and/or options for executive management. Also provides input from field to ensure effective implementation of solutions/changes.
- Responsible for overseeing PMO training, hiring, performance management, and development of PMO staff.
- Effectively manages the organizational portfolio system from project initiation (e.g. managing project selection, business planning, resource planning, and capacity planning) to project execution and closure (e.g. prioritization, project reviews, collection/aggregation of project plans/reports, financial analysis, and ensuring business value) of strategic organizational initiatives.
- Develops best practice demand management, capacity management, and portfolio management processes to ensure organizational alignment and facilitate business case development, portfolio analysis and prioritization, and project execution across the enterprise.
- Facilitates the ongoing Portfolio Review process, including the review of projects entering the execution pipeline, reviewing the forecast of upcoming projects, and leading discussions regarding schedule, conflict, interdependencies, and resolutions.
- Identifies and applies tools and technology designed to increase efficacy, efficiency, and collaboration related to the management of the enterprise portfolio.
- Develops key organizational performance metrics related to effective management, implementation, and reporting of portfolio projects.
- Partners with project sponsors/leads to collaborate effectively with external vendors/third parties in support of projects.
- Continuously drives improvements in the process; supports individuals and teams in process excellence, project management, problem solving, and value creation to drive required outcomes.
- Provide transparency and communicate portfolio progress and updates to staff and others.
- Maintains a library of enterprise portfolio documentation and presentation material. Provides consistent and effective Portfolio dashboards, scorecards and reports that reflect the performance of transformation projects.
- Manages capacity planning models to show planned resource allocation to continue to mature resource planning capabilities. Collaborates with internal organizations to facilitate resolution of resource capacity conflicts.
- Manages overall portfolio of projects and programs for the Enterprise business.
- Aligns programs, projects and operations to strategic objectives; and
- Measures, ranks and prioritizes programs and projects.
