Hours: 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.JOB SUMMARY:
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to all departments and facilitating hospital operations in the absence of on-site administration. Essential job functions support the coordination and direction of hospital operations, as well as clinical, and administrative activities. When needed, the Nursing Supervisor communicates to on-call administrative associates to keep them informed of significant occurrences and receive further direction. The Nursing Supervisor supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Current RN Licensure in the State of Iowa. Must have a BSN or be willing to complete within 5 years. Masters preferred. Five years of nursing experience preferred with two years previous experience in a leadership position such as charge role desirable. Qualified and proficient in the theories and practices of nursing and management. Active participation in personal and professional growth. Demonstrated competency as a leader. Ability to work flexible hours and modify workload as needed. Must have the ability to cope with high levels of stress, handle multiple priorities in stressful situations and make fast decisions under pressure. Must possess the ability to cope with confrontation, manage altercations, and assist with problem resolution and have the ability to cope with anger/fear/hostility of others in a calm manner. Demonstrate a high degree of patience and flexibility. Must provide proof of Basic Life Support-American Heart Association (BLS Healthcare Provider or HealthStream Heart Code) or American Red Cross (Professional Rescuer) within 60 days of hire and maintain certification. Completes Mandatory Reporting requirement within 6 months of hire and renews every 5 years. Completes Cardiac Dysrhythmias and Management Class with in 3 months of hire. Completes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)-American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains certification.
