Job Summary

The Director Project Management is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing designated strategic activities as well as providing project management oversight of designated initiatives in support of the mission, vision, and goals of HCA and the Division. The Director Project Management complies with Division and corporate policy and procedures, efficiently managing activities and resources, and integrates the department services into the Divisions overall plan for the delivery of care and service.


The Director Project Management works with Executive Management, Hospital management and Staff, and outside strategic partners. The Director Project Management identifies and remedies risks and issues through continuous customer satisfaction data and involvement.

Position Responsibilities:

Develops project plans and monitors project schedules within the defined Project Management system. Keeps management advised on project progress, potential issues, obstacles, conflicts or challenges.

Executes the detail of assigned strategic projects.

Maintains quality standards throughout projects.

Provides project management consulting services to Division and hospitals.

Identifies barriers to project success; negotiates through barriers with major stakeholders to keep progress on track.

Provides support in the design of long- and short-range business goals and objectives, as well as development strategies for the Division and designated hospitals.

Develops and maintains positive working relationships with project teams at the facility, division and group levels.

Works with Division facilities to ensure that all facility-specific projects are properly statused and project variances properly are documented and communicated.

Tracks project metrics regarding performance of Division projects, as well as tracking quantitative metrics to ensure that projects met defined operational metrics.

Gathers lessons learned with project teams to review project success

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business, management or similar field required.
  • 2-5 years of project management experience required
  • 2-5 years of hospital and/or multi-facility management experience required
  • Two years of operations, physician relations, and/or business development experience preferred
