HDR is currently seeking a Transportation Business Group (TBG) Manager to grow and manage our Transportation Group (Highway, Roadway, Transit, Freight Railroad, Maritime, Aviation)in Northern California with private and public agency clients. Reporting to the Northern California Area Manager and Regional Transportation Business Group Director, the primary responsibilities of this position is to manage the Transportation Business Group in Northern California and work with HDRs National and Regional Client Development Leaders, Client Managers and other Northern California Business Group Managers (Resources, Water, Federal, CCC) to drive overall growth and profitability of HDRs Transportation practicethroughout Northern California. The position provides oversight of all TBG project delivery, client management, growth and profitability, quality control, marketing strategy, staff development, and hiring of new staff. This includes oversight and management of multi-discipline environmental and engineering teams covering activities including environmental review, environmental analysis, planning, schematic design development, development of construction documents, and installation and construction support to support large, medium, and small scale projects related to the TBG market sectors. The candidate should bring established private and public agency client relationships in California, show a track record of developing and enhancing client relationships in their past experience, and be familiar with the complete life cycle of project delivery including marketing, proposal development, negotiations, contract development, design, installation and construction. Additional responsibilities include supervising and mentoring staff; coordinating staff assignment and workload projections; coordinating with other Northern California Business Group Managers; managing project controllers and project coordinators for project set up, invoicing and reviews; implementing QA/QC procedures; and ensuring all annual performance metrics are met including sales, earnings, profitability, and utilization of staff.
Bachelor's degree in aEngineering,Science,or closely related discipline
15 years of Engineering and Construction Management experience within the Transportation segments
Maintains a professional and/or Engineering registration and has related technical experience is aplus
Knowledge of regulatory processes and project delivery phases including environmental reviews, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closure is required. Ability to network and market engineering and construction management serviceswhile developingstrong client partnerships. Must exhibit a high degree of emotional intelligence, well developed situational leadership skills, and the ability to interact with various design teams and disciplines. Must have excellent organizational, project management, and written and verbal communication skills.
