As a Director, Channel Strategy US you will be empowered to develop and drive the Channel Strategy across multiple channels for all US Business Units (BUs) in close collaboration with Market Access Strategy BU leads, and a typical day will include: POSITION OBJECTIVES: Channels in scope include: Specialty Pharmacies, Distributors, Wholesalers, GPOs, Direct. Design and drive Takedas Managed Markets above brand strategic and tactical marketing plan Ensures understanding of the key environmental trends affecting channel customers (payer, reimbursement, HCP prescribing, etc.) by leveraging market research, data, experience and ongoing analysis of the industry. Ensures field-based teams are equipped with the right tools for channel customers: value proposition, training, optimal Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), etc Serves as Channel subject matter expert to BUs, providing insights and recommendations to channel related issues / opportunities Develops and leads contracting strategy that is aligned to marketplace dynamics and our overall USBU and franchise strategies (objectives, incentives, design, enforcement, etc) across BUs with cross-functional input Monitors changes that will affect channel pricing and reimbursement dynamics for Takeda products and works with Market Access Strategy BU leads and appropriate partners to understand impact and develop plans of action as needed Collaborates with cross-functional partners (Trade teams, Market Access Strategy BU leads, Analytics, Finance, BUs, etc.) to evaluate patient and business impact of strategies, programs, and recommendations Partners with analytics and central data teams to develop channel pricing and performance dashboard/reports to capture trends and inform future decision making. Continuously monitors the market in terms of potential coverage and reimbursement issues, existing and emerging policies, competitive landscape, trends, pricing, contracting strategies, and potential barriers to provider and patient access Positions USBU as a valued partner to targeted channel customers Ensure close collaboration with other Managed Markets colleagues along with Medical, HEOR, Marketing, Finance, Patient Services, Analytics, Public Affairs, Reimbursement, Sales Field colleagues to capture relevant insights, identify data gaps and propose solutions Coordinates and lead channel market research across Bus Develop and own Above Brand marketing strategy Define Takedas Managed Markets position within the Market Access community (focused on Payers, PBMs, Specialty Pharmacies, Distributors and Wholesalers), using internal and external input, in order to establish Takeda as a values-based speciality and rare disease company Develop and align organization on Takeda Managed Markets brand strategy and tactical plan Partner with marketer to execute tactical plan Lead the pull-through of above brand marketing initiatives Lead the planning, implementation, and rollout for above brand marketing tactics to ensure that they deliver against defined strategies POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: Strong understanding of US market access dynamics and how trade partners make decisions. Experience and knowledge across multiple market channels including: payer, PBM, IDN, distribution, specialty pharmacy, GPO s Launch experience in US and global markets; Rare disease and/or speciality therapeutic experience a plus Strong knowledge of pricing, reimbursement and access environment for pharmaceutical products; deep understanding and compliance with the OIG and FDA regulations governing pharmaceutical marketing and the PhRMA code Hub, field reimbursement and government pricing experience preferred Experience with Commercial brand planning process. Financial acumen including resource allocation, budget management and reporting, strategic sourcing and P&L evaluation. Strong analytical capabilities to ensure robust inputs to decision-making Leadership Possess strong leadership, business acumen and ability to manage multiple priorities, processes, timelines and expectations of multiple stakeholder groups. Advanced degree in business, economics, health policy or relevant area preferred. 8+ years of experience in healthcare, of which 2+ years in payer marketing/market access.
