If you are located in the Central Region, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

The Commercial Vice President, Network Strategy will lead the overall efforts of our network strategy with focus on value based contracting, affordability program management, business planning and innovation development for the Central region. The CVP will set network contracting strategies and related objectives across the region and support the health plans growth strategies. Key industry trends and related strategies will be driven by continued vertical and horizontal consolidation, the development of new and innovating provider/insurer partnerships, development activities that accelerate expansion of pre/post-acute care opportunities and the expansion of consumer driven delivery models. Key strategies will be incorporated in the next generation of contract payment design, contract scoring, incentive based payment design, and provider data exchange and capital deployment.

The Commercial Vice President will develop, execute and co-lead the strategy and related value based contract negotiations with major delivery system partners. This role will have primary responsibility for our provider partnership model both in terms of next generation opportunity execution and future pipeline development. The CVP will also be responsible for driving all related cost, quality, access (architecture), NPS (Net Promoter Score) and incentive based programs within the region. The Commercial Vice President will manage efforts, working with our state based network teams, to design, develop and execute on both our affordability programs and general innovation with emphasis on expansion of our primary care, ambulatory care and post-acute (SNF, Home Health, LTAC, Palliative Care, etc.) networks. Further, the CVP will develop responses in large RFPs. The Commercial Vice President will collaborate with multiple matrix partners to assure the region has the necessary tools to develop and execute successful strategies across all of the diverse dynamics (example: National UHN E&I LOB Leadership, Health Care Economics, Health Plan leaders, Clinical Services)

From a business planning perspective, the Commercial Vice President will, in conjunction with the Regional President, oversee the deployment of internal resources relative to our external opportunities, track industry and competitor trends in the region and execute on an innovation/differentiation agenda. Further she/he will lead our commercial product planning and related execution with emphasis on competitive distinction, innovation and deployment of internal/external capital.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years experience in a network management-related role handling complex network providers with accountability for business results
  • 5 years of experience developing and managing a medical cost and administrative budget
  • 8 years experience with provider contracting
  • 2 years experience with Value Based/ACO contracting
  • 8 years experience in developing of product pricing and utilizing financial modeling in making rate decisions
  • 5 years of management experience
  • At least an Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare/Network leadership role in UHN
  • Experience driving affordability initiatives to implementation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others
  • 5 years experience developing and managing a medical cost and administrative budget
  • Masters degree
