We Are Hiring Title: Registered Nurse City, State: Brookfield, WI Location: Elmbrook Hospital Department: Progressive Surgical Additional Job Details: .2 FTE / 24 hours a pay period. Our nurses work 12 hour shifts. For Weekends / Holidays they work every third. All nurses are ACLS trained. The 6 th Floor is a 36 bed Ortho /Surgical unit. The staff start each shift with a Shift Huddle, then Bedside Report. Followed by Hourly Rounds. These best practices help to ensure high patient satisfaction. The Nursing staff work with multidisciplinary team which includes: Hospitalists, Case Managers, Social Workers, Pharmacists, Cardiac Rehab Nurses, OT, PT, Speech Therapy, and Chaplains. Our team works together to meet the patient s needs through Multidisciplinary Rounds each week day. Our unit is dedicated to our surgical patients and families. We believe in a strong shared leadership structure led by our Supervisors and RN Leads. We appreciate staff involvement by participating in projects, committees and unit decision making. Additionally, we have a strong work family environment that values relationships. We welcome different levels of experience to join our diverse team of staff. This group is known to have great team work and knowledge sharing. This unit is led by two-unit Patient Care Supervisors that staff the unit and work in the office to manage the day to day operations. What You Will Do The Nursing staff provides excellent care and service that includes comprehensive assessments, pain management/symptom control, medication administration, discharge planning, patient and family education, psychosocial/spiritual support. Common post-op conditions and diagnoses we care for include: Traditional and Robotic General Abdominal Surgeries, Neuro Surgery-cranial tumors and hemorrhage, Spinal, Vascular disease and procedures, Plastic reconstruction procedures, Degenerative joint disease/arthritis, fractures and musculoskeletal injuries, benign prostatic hypertrophy, and various other urological diseases/disorders. Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the state of Wisconsin or Multi-State Compact obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Additional certifications may be required for specific job locations. Preferred Credential(s): Certified Advanced Life Support specializing in Advanced Cardio Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). Certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). Education: Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred Work Experience: Two (2) years of related experience preferred.
