Williams College Children's Center is pleased to announce the opening for an experienced Lead Teacher to join our team dedicated to providing quality child care and education. This is a full-time (40hrs. /wk.), year-round, regular appointment.
The Williams College Children's Center has a warm and inviting program with state-of-the-art facilities developed expressly for early childhood education. Lead Teacher will guide and support the team on nurturing and safe care of children, curriculum development, developmentally appropriate practice, child guidance and relationships with the children, and parent/teacher communication, and are part of state mandated ratios of staff to children at the Children's Center, and may be required to cover in any classroom to meet ratios. They will also support the mission and philosophy of the Center to provide high quality early education and care for our college and community families.

Responsibilities Lead a collaborative team to create project based emergent curriculum that is responsive to children's interests and strengths;Have a thorough knowledge of early education and care principles and a solid background in developmentally appropriate practice;Partner and communicate with diverse families in the responsive care of their children;Participate in school-wide staff inquiry, professional development, and communication of children's learning to parents.
Qualifications Associate degree with 2-5 years' experience in early childhood education, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience teaching in an early care setting is preferredMeet the teacher certification requirements established by the Department of Early Education and CareKnowledge of safety and early education and care principles/regulationsAbility to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a teamSolid background in developmentally appropriate practiceAbility to communicate effectively both written and verbal with parents/families, and staffStrong leadership experience
